Understanding Double Valve Plugs

A double valve plug combines two valve connectors linked by a cable, designed to simplify wiring in complex automation setups. One connector typically acts as a pass-through plug, enabling seamless connection to the control unit via a cable with an open end or with integrated M8 or M12 connectors. The pass-through connectors are available with cable outlets facing either upwards or backwards, allowing flexible installation depending on space constraints.

Double Valve Plug vs. Single Valve Connector

Some solenoid valves are equipped with two coils to move a spring-centered piston in both directions. Using a Murrelektronik double valve plug, both coils can be powered through a single cable, reducing complexity and installation time compared to using two separate valve connectors.

The rear-connection M8 double valve plug comes with a 3-wire PVC cable (24 × 0.2 mm conductors), rated for 300/500 V AC and up to 4 A per contact. It locks securely when plugged in, ensuring stable electrical contact.
